I just finished putting a 2004r in my 78 El Camino. How do you tell if everything is working correctly?

the important thing with the 2004r 's is the set up of the detent cable.if set up incorrectly the shift timing will be off and the transmission will ultimately fail.

Thank you. With the gas pedal to the floor, the cable is tight. I hope that's correct.
