Hey Guys,
I have a 78 Bu with a 3.0 200ci V6,I plan a V8 eventually,I believe I understand this engine is internally balanced and has the same crank flange/bolt pattern and bellhousing pattern as any average smallblock chevy,IE if I set up my T56 to fit this 3.0 It'll bolt right up and work with any internally balanced Chevy engine I can come up wiih ? Does that sound right? Let me know what you all think!! Thanks,KillerDave

You will be able to use the T5 behind the 3.3L Chevy V6. Just make sure you get the correct flywheel that will work with that engine, and your proposed V8 as well. I used a new flywheel for a 83 z28 350 . Its a lightweight flywheel. You could use something like that as well.

The 3.3- and 3.8-L V6 uses the same neutral-balance flywheel as the 2-piece rear seal V8 (excluding 400 and 454). There are standard weight and light weight flywheels in the 2-piece rear seal pattern, and they are interchangeable.

The bellhousing for the 3.3- and 3.8-L V6 is the same as for the V8.

there is no 3.0... just 3.3 200, and 3.8 229. but yes, 2 piece rms is what you need.

Hey T5.
Yea I though or kinda knew so,that's what I've always loved about GM,Chevy's in particular, all very interchangeable with the exception of the 400sb and 454 and larger bb being strokers and needing to be externally balanced,I just wanted to hear it from someone else!! I've done bought the 400dollar flywheel,I just havn't had the time to tear into it yet!! Later
