Are the headers for a 3.8 and a 3.3 the same? I don't want to put the stock exhaust back on my car, but I also don't want pay $409 for headers for a 3.3 if the same ones for a 3.8L will fit. The 3.8 cheepies are only $175 bucks.

Also, I dropped the old Saginaw 3sp out of it today. In order to run duals I need a new X-member. Besides that, one side of the Xmember was nearly rusted in two. Where can I get a cross member for the 3.3L w/ Saginaw 3sp V6?

The headders are the same. A th350 cross member will fit the saginaw 3 speed trans. make sure the headders are for chevy, not buick v6. I have never seen chevy v6 headders that cheap.

workingr, where did you find 3.8 headers for $175??? My experience with V6 performance is that parts are rare and usually more expensive than the small block Chevy equivalents. You really should make sure that they're for the Chevy 229 and not the Buick 231.

Darwin currently uses a Saginaw 3 speed, and I found the TH350 crossmember I got from G-Force (http://www.crossmembers.com) works like a charm. I've heard that G-Force has new owners and are having less than steller customer service, but you should be able to find the right crossmember from Jegs or Summit.

80ECLT,
Hedman headers from summit. $175.99 I am going to order a new cross member tonight, and hopefully exhaust too. I want to hear this thing run, its been waiting for almost 18 years.

These headers are for a 231, but its listed as a Chevrolet (link below). I looked at the bolt pattern on each, from the pictures on Summit, the bolt pattern looks different. I am betting these won't fit the motor I have. What do you guys think? I hate the thought of spending 400 buck for headers, knowing this motor will only be in the car for a few years at best.

Do I need to get the frame extention part? Or will the cross member bolt right up?

231 is a buick V6. Those headders WILL NOT work on Chevrolet V6's. 200, or 229.

Unfortunatly your only option is the 400$ Ones for the 200, 229, 262 V6.

Crossmember should bolt right up!!

Guess I'll have to bite the bullet on those headers. Stock exhaust is out of the question. Thanks for the help.
