10 SI to CS144 ,Amping Up

Want to swap in a CS144 alt in the 4th gen Monte and found out that the mounting bolt spacing is wider for the CS144, by about .71 inch. Asside from shimming the existing mounting bracket, at the intake manifold, is it possible to use the early mounting brackets like that used in the Malibu? Believe that the Malibu,'s alternator has a wider spaced bolt hole location, than in the "87 Monte.

I'm thinking of doing this swap as well....Why not get the correct brackets for a mid to late 80's donar vehicle that has this alternator already??

If you have an Autozone near you, (that has an employee with more than half a brain) give them the part number and they can order it for you for $13
