No 12 volts on choke wire

I'm working on a 79 El Camino with an Edelbrock 1406 carb. The yellow wire running to the choke does not have 12 volts when the ignition is on. I looked the list of schematics on this forum, but did not see any mention of the choke circuit. Did the car originally come with an electric choke? If so, by any chance, does the oil pressure switch (sender) have to be closed (oil pressure above some minimum amount) in order for 12 volts to be supplied to the choke? (That's how it works on an 82 Chevy).

Thanks.

You wont get 12V at the choke until you have oil pressure. It's fed from the oil pressure switch.

Yeah, guess I'll have the find the wire that was connected from the fuse panel to the oil pressure switch. I doubt that the switch is still installed.
