Using a mid 90's serpentine system on my sb with the 105 amp alternator that came with the setup. The 105 amp is more like 30-40 amp at idle, alittle too low especially when the cooling fan comes on. Thought about upgrading to the SC130D which is rated at 140 amp but am reading that a better choice would be the AD244 GM alternator. I've read conflicting articles that it'd be a direct swap with the SC130. I'm concerned with the mount bolt spacing. The SC130 bolt spacing is 6.61". Can't find any specs online what the AD244's spacing is.

Any one out there have a Envoy, Safari, Savanna, Sierra, Yukon/Denali, H2,H3, Olds, Ranier, Escalade, Avalanche, C,K Series, Trailblazer, SSR or G series truck that has a AD244 on it that they could give me a mount bolt spacing measurement?? Looks like anything in the 1999 to 2007 6 or v8s. :?:

This is what I have now

For anybody using the early to mid 90's serpentine setup w/CS130 alternator on a small block- the larger and more efficient AD244 (140 amp) for a 04 Silverado looks like it's a direct swap mount wise for the weak 105amp CS130. Will most likely need an inch longer belt and the harness connector also. Big difference in low speed charging especially when the lights and cooling fans are running. I'd be a good idea to upgrade the "Big Three" before hand.
