Okay, so some owner before me installed a sunpro temperature gauge and a oil pressure gauge i saw on a different site the hokk up to the engine for the temperature gauge, was different although they had a truck of some sort, and my temp. gauge has been acting funny, so i was gonna check both gauges and go over the wiring to make sure there done right, im pretty sure it is, but i don't know, does anyone have pictures of where it hooks up, for me the temperature gauge is going to the passengers side head under the manifold, and the sensor is on the drivers side, which doesnt have the wire connected. To me the wiring is all weird. And i know nothing about the wiring.

3 wires for the gauge + 2 for the light
Gauge=1 switched hot,1 feed from sender,1 ground
Light=1(light)switched hot, ground

Both heads have a provision for a gauge, you only need one so plug the other(or leave the old sender)

yeah that doesnt really help me...haha sorry, this is all a first for me, i looked at the gauges each have copper wire coming from it and a black and red wire from each, bloack would be ground and red would be power from the circuit correct? both copper hooke up on the engine somewhere. now what sender is in the passengers side head under the manifold? Drivers side is the temperature sender, also another thing is that i have neither fan shroud on, but would that cause the gauge to sky rocket up around 230...240? i wouldnt think so, cause then it will go down if i rev it.

Heres the pic of both gauges, cars been sitting for an hour or two.

There both backs, the closest gauge is the temp gauge. the other is oil pressure.

This is where the temp gauge hooks in, its on the passenger side head.

This is where the oil gauge hooks in, it is below the distributor at the back end of the engine near the windshield.

Those are manual gauges. The wires are just for lights.
The manual gauges are a lot more accurate, I'd say you have other problems other than the gauge.

well there is wiring problems, with like the turn signals being off set, the position of the turn signal lever decides if the drivers side tail lamp will blink for the 4-ways, so im think the column has something to do with it. but are the gauges hooked up right?

The "copper wires" aren't wires. Those are mechanical gauges. The only wires you have (red & black) are for the aftermarket gauge illumunition. I think your issue is with the stock gauge electrical setup, not with the aftermarket gauges.

what do you mean by stock gauges? i dont have a temp. gauge or oil other then the aftermarket one, i dont think im really grasping what your all saying, haha. sorry, maybe just a sensor in the head that needs swapped out, but the sensor in the passengers side head what is that for?

The sensor is for a gauge or "idiot" light. If you have a manual gauge (and you do) you don't need it. It is just there to plug the hole. The temp. gauge can go any where in the cooling system, one in each head, or the intake. The oil gauge goes in the back of the block behind the intake or on most engines down by the oil filter.
With manual gauges they have NOTHING to do with the electrical system. exept for the light.

ahhh thank you i understand alot better and we have also come to the conclusion i have a blown head gasket or a small leak. so im looking into that tomorrow. i know that can contribute to the gauge seeming weird it seems to stay around 190 like it should, but sometimes it climbs but resets itself. so i think everything is fine.
