Recently bought a car for parts that has Foose Nitrous wheels on it I'm thinking about running on my Bu. The rear wheel is supposedly a 17x9.5 with 5.5 backspace. I was looking at 275/40/17 tires for the wheels. My question is if I can fit this wheel and tire on the rear without noticing the frame? Is a wheel spacer or anything necessary?

I believe about 4 7/8" is going to be about your max, possibly 4 3/4" to be safe, but I think you'll also have to massage the wheel well lips too... it's doable, but it will be tight.

Thanks a lot for the quick response. That was my fear. The front 2 are 17x8 so I've thought about buying 2 more new and running matching rims with 245/45/17 all the way around. Give me the ability to rotate.

One more question. With a stock rear end and 2-3" drop will there be a big difference in a 4 and 4.5" bs or is it just splitting hairs over 1/2"?
