I love it. It was a little sluggish on the start off, I need to adjust the carb. Once it was rolling it was awesome.

I adjusted the choke today. It starts great and the rooms are at 1500.

I removed bolts from fan shroud, removed bolts from the flex plate cover. I removed the bolts from motor mounts and jacked the engine up. I hope to replace the pan gasket tomorrow.

I removed the engine oil pan and changed the pan gasket. I BC put the motor mounts back together. Reinstalled the flex plate cover and the fan shroud.

I put oil back in the engine. Took it for a test drive. I found oil leaking from a pan bolt that wasn't tight. Tighten it up. Plan to test drive tomorrow and recheck.

I took it out for a road trip, and it ran great. When I got back home, I seen another leak. I got to figure out where it is coming from.

I got the wrong pan gasket. I got it off and the new one installed. Hope to finish it up tomorrow.

Swapped my thermostat for a 180°. It had a 160° and was running too cold since I installed the serpentine setup.

I adjusted the choke again. I'll have to check it tomorrow to see if it's where I want it.

My son took the 78 El Camino for a short road trip yesterday. He bought this car back in 97 and put an engine in that he rebuilt for his 73 El Camino. I've did the body work and made drive train changes. This is the first time he drove it since 2004. He really loved how well it performs. Thanks to all here that helped me make it better.
