That's cool to read about :D Several years back I was on a visit to Flint when my parents still lived up that way. I was driving in the not-so-nice part of town when I spotted my rusted-out Sonoma that wasn't so rusty when I bought it (Michigan happened to it :(). I spun around and talked to the guy for a minute, it was obviously in worse-off shape than when I had it thanks to rust :P

Watch what you wish for.
My first car was a 77 Grand Prix that I bought used in 88.
After a few years, dents, and many other good times, I sold it to a friend of a friend.

A few years after I sold it I found it by accident in a local junkyard while I was looking for parts for another car.
It was sad to see it wasted, ripped apart, and abandoned in a junkyard.
It's been chinese rebar for years now I'm sure. :(

its been a wile but heres a little update. we're on the third attempt on the paint job. its a long story and I'm still ###### so I'm gonna pass on talking about that. that being said I found the right guy now and he's doing an amazing job so far. The motor went in with no issues on account that theres no AC box in the car. I rerouted all the elec through a hole in the firewall so no wires are visible and the coil is behind the dash. Its a really clean look. So theres about a week left on the body then the race to the finish begins.

I don't think it's going to make enough power...
