Hello

Working on a 81 two door Malibu.

Got the body off the chassis to fix rear frame rail rot.

Problem I have is that when I loosened up body mount bolts three of them wouldn't come out. They just kept spinning and spinning. What I ended doing just so could get the body off was drill out the head on those three bolts.

I don't know what the technical word is for the part,,,,basically a cup link in the auto body with threads for bolting body to frame.
Question is how does one replace these cup links in the auto body?
I'm asking because I can't figure out if they are supposed to come out or would I have to cut small hole in body to access and replace the cup links.

Thank you for any help.

You have to cut holes in the body fom the inside, some use a hole saw then just put a rubber plug in to fill the hole, others make 3 cuts and peel the body bodyback to get to them, then weld it back shut when done.
