I have a 4" cowl fiberglass hood on my 81 Malibu, not sure of the brand possibly Harwood. The hood has a bow in the middle by the finders, it is a bolt on hood using the stock hinges and lock. Anyone have any ideas how to flatten the hood? looking to paint the car this winter and would like to fix it before paint. Thanks for any info on this.

no im not sure of the root cause it was like that when bought the car. It does not have the factory springs on it... but thats not saying it didn't at some point causing the bow. I'm looking for a possible to fix to remove the bow

I would create some sandbags heavy enough that when placed at the highest point of the bend, they would "flatten" the hood back to the desired shape.
Carefully placed across the hood, not just on the edges, to remove the total bend.
Might take a while but it may work. :-k
Leave the hood on the car while you do this. That way it has support and you will know when the "hump" is gone.
If it's your driver, do the threapy when it's parked at home.

Goofy idea maybe, but its what I would try.
