Hey guys, I'm wanting to buy a bolt on 4" cowl hood. But a Harwood is upwards of $550, and that's a bit high, any body know of a company that's cheaper, and the hood isn't junk? I want it to fit decent, not look horrible.

Any input is appreciated.

Hate to say it, but Harwood is about your best bet. I looked around for a while for a 4" bolt on, and they were crazy expensive or just plane junk. Many in that size were a pin on, and bolt on was only 2" or so.

I didn't do a thing to mine yet. It fits great, looks great (tho still in black gelcoat) and won't take much to get it ready for paint. Might as well do it right the first time....

I would stick with one of the big three names in hoods; Harwood, VFN or Glasstek. A pin on will always be cheaper than a bolt on and a few people have complained of the Harwood bolt ons separating top from bottom. A lot of folks here seem to like the Glasstek hoods.

My VFN 4" cowl is a bolt on.
