switching from 80 tail lights to 78 HELP!

I just got a nice set of 78 tail lights for my 80 model and the pig tails are different! I thought they were the same from 78 to 80 but I figured wrong. Anyone got a set of 78 pig tails for sale or is there a trick I don't know about? ](*,)

I don't know if you can get them for a 78 or not, but my local parts store had a wide variety of factory replacement style tail light sockets and plugs.

Thanks man! I'll check with them in the morning. I hate to cut on my lenses to make the 80 models (bulb sockets) work. =D>

Is there something wrong with your '80 lenses?

no Doober they were in great shape, I just prefer the 78's. I sold the 80's and matching quarter panel extensions lat week.

just so y'all know, I had to find and install a '78 tail light wiring harness to mate to my nice '78 tail light lenses. My car is an '80 model and I always thought that the rear wiring harness were all the same '78 to '83 but they are NOT!

Thanks for the heads up, if I wind up junking the '81 I'll make sure to snip the harness with lots of extra wire.
